Pixar Celebrates 25 Years of Animation

Ever since I was little and saw Toy Story for the first time, I have laughed, cried and bled Pixar. I began caring a little too much for bugs after seeing A Bug’s Life, started looking for creatures lurking in my closet after Monster’s Inc., and wore a cape for a month after Incredibles. Mind you, I was 16.

Whether we like it or not, Pixar Animation Studios shaped the way most of us have grown up. It’s hard to believe its been this long but they are responsible for iconic characters in history such as Woody, Nemo, Wall-E and so much more. They’ve redesigned the way we look at Cars and even made us realize how lazy the human race has become due to technology. Watching the studio grow so much has been a blessing and we shall forever be able to enjoy the fruits of their labor. After the success of Toy Story 3, we can expect Cars 2 later this year and even Monsters Inc. 2 in 2012.

I challenge you to watch this video paying homage to the animated giant and their 25 years of success and not tear up just a little bit. Who wants to have a Pixar Marathon? Also check out the trailer for Cars 2.

I'm a man of tomorrow still holding onto the joys of yesterday. I miss Nick cartoons, and Power Rangers but I cant get enough of the Time Lords, and Serial Killers we have now. My many distractions include computers, movies, comics, and I like to imagine my life story would be scored with a mixture of Death Cab, A3, and a lot of Kid Cudi. We've entered the Geekological Revolution. A time of Vulcan Death Grips, drinks with friends on Tatooine, and attempting to build a freeze ray. Things have changed, muscle headed bullies. The Nerds rule the world now, and we reign SUPREME!

  • Pixar put that type of animation on the map. Love The Incredibles!!!!

  • You obviously didn’t learn much from the Incredibles – capes are bad news….
“Do you remember Thunderhead? Tall, storm powers? Nice man, good with kids….
November 15th of ’58! All was well, another day saved, when… his cape snagged on a missile fin! ….
Stratogale! April 23rd, ’57! Cape caught in a jet turbine! ….
Metaman, express elevator! Dynaguy, snagged on takeoff! Splashdown, sucked into a vortex!”
Also, that’s how they finished off Syndrome. “NO CAPES!”

  • Great quoting skills but I don’t quite understand what your first sentence means?

  • The movie says don’t wear capes. That was for the author, not you ZHawk. (Also, in all fairness, I cheated on the quotes and used IMDB so that I could get it right.)

  • You’re a cheater, Patrick. As for the “No Capes” thing. I was a rebel. Any one told me what to do, i did the opposite. Still kinda holds true.
