Mass Effect 3 Trailer Takes The Action To Jolly ol’ London

There’s nothing worse than a great trailer for an ultimately botched game. The thing with BioWare is, you get a great trailer and then, months later a just-as-great, if not better game.

With that in mind, it’s obvious why this “Mass Effect 3” trailer is so exciting:

Looks like the Reapers, the still-mysterious threat from the first two “Mass Effect” games, are making their presence known to humanity, even though most of the species of the Milky Way are unaware that they exist (or adamant that they’re a fabrication, in the case of Council politicians).

It will be interesting to see how this plays out with the still-skeptical Council and what Cerberus and The Illusive Man’s role are in the defense of Earth.

It’s too early to say, but let’s hope there’s still plenty of exploration some time before the inevitable blitz of the Earth by the Reapers. The Mass Effect series has had some of the coolest settings in gaming (with ME2 in particular nailing that aspect) and it’d be a shame to lose that in the third installment.

“Mass Effect 3” will be out Dec. 31, 2011 on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC (a first for the series), giving you enough time to play through “ME1” and “ME2” a few more times to achieve all the different endings and permutations that will affect how the whole trilogy plays out. (Everyone leaves Ashley behind to die in that one mission in “ME1,” right? She’s like the awkward, racist relative at a family reunion.)

I was born in Cleveland and raised in Los Angeles. Grew up with my face in a comic book and my head in the clouds. I have made many life decisions based on what would certain comic book or movie characters would do… this includes joining the United States Marines, getting into fights, starting random businesses and living in Japan for awhile. Some good decisions some bad, but all worth it.
