If you are as excited to see Jeremy Renner play Hawkeye as we are, then maybe these shots from the new, darker Hansel & Gretel film will hold you over.

The film stars Renner and Gemma Alterton and is set to go to theaters in March of 2012. You may know Alterton from Clash Of The Titans or from her incredibly sexy role in Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time. She’s a lesser known actress at the moment but she is playing bigger and bigger roles lately.

Here is the official synopsis of Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters:

Catching up with Hansel and Gretel 15 years after their incident involving a gingerbread house, the siblings have evolved into bounty hunters who hunt witches. [IMDB]

The director, Tommy Wirkola, is also know for directing the Dead Snow film about Nazi zombies in Germany. It was a truly gore-tastic movie and I, for one, can’t wait to see how he can turn these seemingly innocent children into bad-ass, witch hunting adults. Check out the set photos below:
