Tonight was more of a quiet night with the Mondo gallery. Fewer than 30 people were lined up up front before the kraft paper was torn off the glass doors to reveal the innards of the gallery. Michael N. and I were able to preview the gallery and take some photos.
Many pieces were sold before the doors were even open including the two Drake sketches for Rachael from Blade Runner and Oren from Kill Bill for $300 a pop. One piece that went for $7100 – a Horkey print – sold instantly once the gallery opened. Overall, I would consider the show a success. Let us hope Mondo has more of these galleries so that people can earn more of a piece of Mondo history.
