I remember being 11 years old staying in a condo in Florida during the Christmas holidays with my family. My parents ushered my sisters and me into bed early one night. I was incredulous to say the least. Why in the hell would my parents do this to me! I snuck out to find my parents watching a VHS copy of Rambo III. My capture was imminent as my parents caught me and paused the movie. I only got to see Rambo running and a helicopter chasing. But you’re damn sure, I made myself a promise to find out more about John Rambo.
I’ve seen several Rambo and First Blood prints, but I haven’t really seen a lot of artwork based on Rambo III. I was thrilled when Grey Matter Art announced they’d be covering the original trilogy. And in my humble opinion, Marko Manev nailed it. See the final design below:
