Motor City Comic Con 2017 – Day One

Day one of Motor City Comic Con was, as usual, a blast. My favorite moment might have been when Michael Rooker passed me on the left and yelled, “I’m Mary Poppins y’all!” on his way to his booth. That might be the greatest line in all of Marvel movie history.

But a close second were the amazing interviews we got with the beautiful Kristy Swanson (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), the stunning Shannon Elizabeth (American Pie), and the charming Hannah Kasulka (The Exorcist TV series). Bill, in his Nerdlocker debut, was a natural with all three, making them feel at ease and (especially in Shannon Elizabeth’s case) getting them to share details that I’m guessing no other media outlet captured. All three were amazing interviews.

The cosplay on day one was on point as usual (see below), although it was a little more sparse than in previous years. We saw a Delores from West World, Link and Zelda (yes, I know the difference), Velma, Pam from Archer, a couple of Zatannas, and even a Dazzler.

I am very excited for Day 2. Billie Piper, here I come.

I've been a comic nerd since Spider-man and his Amazing Friends and the Super Friends. So someone please explain to me, when did Aquaman become so cool? Also, why isn't She-Hulk in more media?
