Michael Shannon IS General Zod

Michael Shannon breaks in and steals the role of Zod in the upcoming Superman Reboot.

The Superman movie news just can’t stop rolling in. The rumors that Viggo Mortensen was cast were exiled to the phantom zone. Michael Shannon was just officially announced to be playing the infamous enemy of the Man Of Steel, General Zod. You may know him from television and movies such as Jonah Hex, Revolutionary Road, Law & Order, Boardwalk Empire, and Pearl Harbor.  Not only do we now know who will be intimidating us in the reboot but we also get the confirmation of who will be our villain.

Zack Snyder stated:

Zod is not only one of Superman’s most formidable enemies, but one of the most significant because he has insights into Superman others don’t. Michael is a powerful actor who can project both the intelligence and the malice of the character, making him perfect for the role.

Will Shannon be able to live up to the legacy created by Terence Stamp in 1981’s Superman II? Time will tell but give us your opinion in the comments below.

I'm a man of tomorrow still holding onto the joys of yesterday. I miss Nick cartoons, and Power Rangers but I cant get enough of the Time Lords, and Serial Killers we have now. My many distractions include computers, movies, comics, and I like to imagine my life story would be scored with a mixture of Death Cab, A3, and a lot of Kid Cudi. We've entered the Geekological Revolution. A time of Vulcan Death Grips, drinks with friends on Tatooine, and attempting to build a freeze ray. Things have changed, muscle headed bullies. The Nerds rule the world now, and we reign SUPREME!
