Major James Bond Announcements!

0

Sony Pictures had a large press conference today. The main topic, James Bond! In attendance were Daniel Craig, Judi Dench, director Sam Mendes, villain Javier Bardem and the newest bond girl, Berenice Marlohe (yeah we didn’t know of her either). You can find an impressive photo gallery of her at JoBlo.com.
More good news, James Bond established a twitter handle! We were able to get a ton of information for there as the press conference rolled on. The high points are as follows:

  • “The title of Bond 23 will be….Skyfall.”
  • “Ben Whishaw, Ralph Fiennes and Albert Finney will all be joining the Skyfall cast.”
  • “Bérénice Marlohe will play Severin. Naomie Harris will play a field agent called Eve.”
  • “Javier Bardem will play Skyfall’s villain.”
  • “Producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli explain that the title Skyfall has “some emotional context”.”
  • “Director Sam Mendes says Skyfall “is its own story. It doesn’t connect with the last two movies”.”
  • “The official Skyfall synopsis: “Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack…”
  • “…007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost”

Awesome news for all James Bond fans! We’ve waited a long time to see the return of Daniel Craig as 007. Thankfully all has been sorted out (if you remember MGM went through a bankruptcy settlement that delayed the production of future MGM films, Bond franchise included). Shooting on Skyfall begins today! Needless to say we can’t wait to see the final product next year!

What are your thoughts on the latest Bond news?

I'm a true child of the 80s from a small town near Cleveland, Ohio. My all time favorite topics are Star Wars, slasher films and Cleveland sports (despite the misery it causes). I narrowly avoided law school, instead choosing film school. I have been accused of being a walking IMDB, but I take it as a compliment!
