March Nerdness 2014 – Sci-Fi Edition!

Find tickets and showtimes on Fandango.

It’s that time of year again! Time for March Nerdness! This year it’s all Sci-fi. Our divisions are Star Wars, Star Trek, Doctor Who, and The Classics.

March Nerdness 2014

When it comes to doing an all sci-fi tournament, three of the divisions were obvious and need no explanation. The Classics, however, is made up of characters who are from a smorgasbord of science fiction movies and series that define the genre.

The Favorites:

The Heavy Hitters
The Heavy Hitters

These were the no-brainers. The heavy-hitters. Yeah, some might argue that someone else should be number one. But you’d be wrong. So just hush.

The Dark Horses:

The Dark Horses
The Dark Horses

These are the characters who probably should be ranked higher and are likely to do some damage in the brackets.

The Master – The Master to The Doctor is Moriarty to Sherlock Holmes.

Mace Windu – Only a Jedi this awesome could wield a purple lightsabre.

Alex – Um, don’t turn your back on this droog.

Seven of Nine – Um, I dare you to take your eyes off her.

Win to get in:

K-9 vs. Pyroviles

K-9 is just too classic of a character to lose to a walking volcano.

Padme Amidalla vs. Stormtrooper

Ouch!
Ouch!

It’s a good thing a Stormtrooper can’t shoot straight, although Padme’s torn clothes in episode 2 might have been distracting him.

The Red shirt vs. Tribbles

A red shirt didn’t die?!? That might be because the only threat Tribbles pose is annoyance.

Doc Brown vs. E.T.

The battle of 1980’s family sci-fi. Doc Brown wins every time. Get it?

Let us know who you think wins in each match up in the comments below!

Jason

I've been a comic nerd since Spider-man and his Amazing Friends and the Super Friends. So someone please explain to me, when did Aquaman become so cool? Also, why isn't She-Hulk in more media?
