The new trailer for the much anticipated prequel of the Apes franchise lets us see the eery faces of our own potential captors.

Its been over 40 years since the Apes series began and no one here is complaining about it continuing. We no longer have Charlton Heston to curse the skies but James Franco seems to have picked up the mantle quite nicely. In this new trailer we get a clearer view of what the apes will look like in the prequel explaining how they came to be the blood-thirsty, power hungry animals we know today.

The franchise has lasted 5 films, 2 short-lived TV series and one remake. Its even had countless comic adaptations and I am sure this prequel will not let us down. The film stars James Franco, Freida Pinto, John Lithgow, Brian Cox, Tom Felton, and Andy Serkis. The origin story is set in San Fransisco as a reality-based cautionary tale — a science fiction/science-fact blend where mankind’s hubris leads to the development of intelligence in apes and the onset of a war for supremacy. “DAMN YOU, DIRTY APES. DAMN YOU ALL TO HELL!!”
