One of the most anticipated HBO shows returns this April with a twist on the story of David vs. Goliath. What I mean is if you are caught up with the series, Tyrion Lannister shed some family blood at the end of last season, and took off from his home in King’s Landing. Since then, the “imp” has been on the run and crossing the path of the Dragon mother herself, Daenerys Targaryen, on the narrow sea. It seems that each season as Khaleesi, gains more power and militia, the Lannister’s weaken and are getting pushed away from one another. Many instances of the series show the Lannister’s comedic perception of the “dragon girl” and her mission to destroy them. But they never seem to lose sleep over it and continue to destroy their brother, Tyrion.
Since the unleashing of the dragons in a few seasons back, they have done some extensive damage across the land and look to be heading straight towards Tyrion. The official poster for season 5 was released and looks to be foreshadowing big things toward the upcoming season of Game of Thrones. Will Khaleesi come face to face with Tyrion? Many fans have speculated that there will be a meeting of the two families and some key characters will die along the way. Wait!! A key character get’s killed off again in Game of Thrones?
According to The Verge, the dragon in the poster is Drogon the most aggressive creature of the three hatchlings. We may see more incinerated corpses and fields, but at least we know that we are getting some kick ass movie-esque special effects! If Season 5 can out due last season’s Episode 9 titled “The Watchers on The Wall,” I will forever be a fan of the GOT. If you missed last season, and that episode specifically, check it out and you will know what I am talking about in terms of quality!
Game of Thrones is one of the best shows on television today and proven to be one of the best series of all time. It’s one of those shows where you have to follow thirty main characters and get glimpses of their life, but remember everything about them. I have always been a fan of Team Stark and excited to see how Jon Snow, Sansa, and Arya Stark avenge their father’s death. I will admit that I have not read all of the books and want to see a cinematic version of the story line before I dive back into the books. Call me lazy, but honestly the show is so damn good I want to finish the TV series then revisit the book series.
Where will you be April 12th? Valar Morghulis…..
