I was born in Cleveland and raised in Los Angeles. Grew up with my face in a comic book and my head in the clouds. I have made many life decisions based on what would certain comic book or movie characters would do… this includes joining the United States Marines, getting into fights, starting random businesses and living in Japan for awhile. Some good decisions some bad, but all worth it.

I’m a true child of the 80s from a small town near Cleveland, Ohio. My all time favorite topics are Star Wars, slasher films and Cleveland sports (despite the misery it causes). I narrowly avoided law school, instead choosing film school. I have been accused of being a walking IMDB, but I take it as a compliment!

I grew up on Kung Fu theater movie weekends, a lot of Top Ramen Noodles, G.I. Joe’s, Evil Knivels Stunt Cycle and Stretch Armstrong. My Movie reviews and Artist Interviews have been a regular around Nerdlocker.com.

Salty Winters once said, “Everything I learned I learned from the movies.” He was quoting Audrey Hepburn.

As long as I can remember movies to me have been one of the best things since the creation of bacon. I was born and raised in Henderson, Nevada which is essentially just Las Vegas with less crazy people. My favorite film is The Departed, I love football (Go Broncos!), and heavy music with screaming and other noisy stuff thrown in. I love long walks on the beach, a nice can of Pepsi (or Coke if that’s all you have) and a good round of video games.

A Brit who doesn’t drink tea. A software engineer that doesn’t like coffee. Shunned by my peers I retreat to the cinema, or the TARDIS, to surround myself with all things nerdy! My teenage years were George Romero and Anime obsessed, while these days my walls are covered in screen prints and bookcases full of blu ray.

I’m a man of tomorrow still holding onto the joys of yesterday. I miss Nick cartoons, and Power Rangers but I cant get enough of the Time Lords, and Serial Killers we have now. My many distractions include computers, movies, comics, and I like to imagine my life story would be scored with a mixture of Death Cab, A3, and a lot of Kid Cudi. We’ve entered the Geekological Revolution. A time of Vulcan Death Grips, drinks with friends on Tatooine, and attempting to build a freeze ray. Things have changed, muscle headed bullies. The Nerds rule the world now, and we reign SUPREME!

I’ve been a comic nerd since the Super Friends and Spider-man and his Amazing Friends. I prefer the original Star Wars, the BBC Sherlock, and any version of Kirk under 40. Above all else, well-written characters matter. But I’m also a sucker for literary allusion.

Born and raised in Texas, I live in the best city in the world, Austin. I spent the majority of my life sequestered in random theaters watching whatever I could, or in front of a TV ruining beloved VHS tapes and DVDs from overuse. I tend to act as a human IMDB for friends and family, as I have an uncanny (some would say useless) ability to remember a plethora of random facts regarding any given movie, actor/actress, etc. I spend the majority of my time these days passing on my geeky tendencies to my two kids. Confirmed Nerd. Lover of Film and TV. Extreme Hoarder of Collectibles: Screenprints, Statues, Action Figures, Prop Replicas, and piles of other stuff I deem incredibly valuable. Also, I usually have a beard.

I was taught to never let people ridicule me for who I am and what I like. Growing up black in Metro Atlanta being a nerd wasn’t the most accepted lifestyle, but it was a lifestyle that I chose and am proud of. As a result of my defiance I try to do the things I want and write the way I want. You only get one life and missing opportunities because they aren’t popular is literally a waste of a non renewable resource.

I Love Video games preferably on PlayStation, Magic the Gathering, Anime, and comics. I’m Cuban-American so ?’m told I have a mean streak, but I don’t see it. My favorite Comic Book character is Storm. I love being a nerd and will throw down if questioned.

Some of my earliest memories are reading comic books that had been carefully smuggled out of my dad’s collection and visiting the local comic book store in Flint, Michigan. I love to be involved in anything nerd culture but my strengths lie with Dr. Who, Star Trek: TNG and X-men. Working in the senior citizen non-profit sector provides me with the ability to teach History of Science Fiction classes and actually have really great conversation about the birth of this genre. You’re most likely to find me at Motor City Comic Con, or lounging around with the hound catching up on sci-fi backlog and debating the merits of crafting a beagle Ironman costume.

I have been a horror fan since the age of two with the introduction of Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors on the old VHS tape. Ever since then, I have seen most movies in the horror genre at least twice and surrounded my home with a plethora of slasher memorabilia, movies, and comics. I am a musician, artist, student, tattoo enthusiast, traveler, and IT professional solving all of your technological issues one floppy disk at a time. If John Carpenter, Martin Scorsese and Pat Benatar were to have a ginger kid together, it would look something like me. Oh yeah, you may run into me at a local coffeeshop writing my latest Nerdlocker review while enjoying a frothy beverage. I am looking forward to being doused with the buzzing spectacle of the nerd community for many years to come.
