Odd City Presents True Romance by GABZ

Odd City has again partnered with Morgan Creek Productions to bring a new and fully licensed screen print of the 1993 Tony Scott/Quentin Tarantino epic, True Romance, to the eagerly awaiting masses! This time by Polish artists GABZ.

If you’ve been paying attention you’ve probably noticed GABZ is a rising star in the screen printed art world. We love his work here at Nerdlocker and this is no exception! It’s got the signature GABZ style that seems to create a landscape of characters, but this time they all exist within the confines of the central figure, Cupid himself. It’s a killer idea! On top of that, instead of the typical “regular” and “variant” versions we usually see in a print release, we’re getting a “Detroit” and “Los Angeles” version… same print with two totally different color schemes, but with the same run sizes for both and same retail price. So regardless of which one you like better you’ll have an equal chance at getting them.

On a side note, us Nerds are starting to wonder if this is going to turn into a series of True Romance prints. Here’s hoping!

“Coming up with a concept for a movie like True Romance, that I have been a huge fan of for years and is among my favourite Tony Scott films of all time, wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be when I first got the proposal. There are so many brilliant quotes, memorable scenes and a mind-blowing soundtrack on top of it all. The Hawaiian shirted Cupid I went with, symbolizing the bizarre romance between Alabama and Clarence, came to me as a revelation and I felt I had a winner. I desperately wanted to not only catch the mood of the film, but also include as many characters as I could possibly fit. I love every single performance from the movie and I felt like everyone deserved a tribute.” – Grzegorz “GABZ” Domaradzki
