ODD CITY ENTERTAINMENT RELEASES THE FINAL LIMITED EDITION LAURENT DURIEUX ART PRINT BASED ON PARAMOUNT PICTURES’ “THE GODFATHER: PART III” TO CELEBRATE THE FRANCHISE’S 45TH ANNIVERSARY
After releasing limited edition art prints based on “THE GODFATHER” and “THE GODFATHER: PART II,” Laurent Durieux completes his work on the iconic Paramount Pictures’ trilogy with THE GODFATHER Part III. The Godfather Part III was nominated for seven Academy Awards, including Best Supporting Actor for Andy Garcia. The film is considered by some to be the epilogue to the Corleone Family story, but all three of the Durieux prints together depict a legacy that is everlasting.
“I have always had a soft spot for The Godfather Part III. The ending is just so perfect, a reversed pietà set on the stairs of the Opera in Palermo, which obviously refers to the main theme of the movie, Catholicism and its procession of symbols; Guilt, Sacrifice, Redemption, Punishment, etc. It’s so very rich in interpretations and symbols. In my poster Vincent is becoming the new Godfather, with Michael giving his “crown” to Vincent. At last, Michael is out, wanting to resume his life, away from violence, treasons, strategies and politics… But someone’s gotta pay for all his sins…”
