Avengers

I’m going to keep this short and sweet. This is the kind of movie that everyone has already decided if they can’t wait to see it or they can’t wait until they stop hearing about it. I know my little review of this already highly successful sequel isn’t really going to change any minds. I will just confirm for those that have yet to see it that Avengers: Age of Ultron is every bit as epic as its predecessor. I think the most subjective thing that will come out of this new addition to the Marvelverse is whether this one or the first Avengers film is better. I can see arguments for and against both. For myself, I had just as much fun if not more with Ultron. With everything having already been established this adventure starts off with absolute haste and never lets up. It can be said that A2 (Avengers 2) is significantly darker in tone and storyline but make no mistake, the jokes are just as witty and perfectly timed as the first.

Avengers2

One of my favorite aspects about the first film is brought into the sequel and it’s just as fantastic as before. I’m talking about the time given to each and every character to truly shine. Every Avenger has their bad ass moment; actually they all have multiple scenes that are mind blowing. It is never just about one single person as each contributes to create one of the best ensemble casts ever. The CGI is breathtaking, the dialogue is humorous and intelligent, and the villain is as menacing as any before him. Bent on world “peace” Ultron is determined to carry out his Bond villain like plan of bettering the world by destroying it. Although a team that has been in multiple battles together, they still struggle to coexist with one another. Filled with immense amounts of testosterone fueled superpowers and trying to look cool in front of Black Widow, they are constantly testing the boundaries of their so called comrades. What truly makes them so super is their ability to overcome their petty differences to stand together against a formidable and diabolical villain known as Ultron.

Seriously, just see this movie. Are there flaws? Yes, of course. But any fan of the first will look well passed them and see this for what it really is. It’s such a killer ride! It’s a film stacked with comedic gold, action galore, superpowers left and right; it’s an extravaganza and it delivers tenfold. Be warned though, it will get you even more excited for what’s to come in Marvel’s goody bag. If this film is any indication, we have many spectacular things to look forward to. Next up is Ant-Man to close out Phase 2 and then it’s onto Phase 3! Avengers, Asse…
