For you fans of cinema, Alamo Drafthouse Cinema will be bringing back to the theater what Tim League and his amazing programmers call the Alamo 100. Beginning in January, Alamo theaters will be showing movies from this list on the big screen beginning with classics like City Lights (1931), Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975), Raging Bull (1980), Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), Sixteen Candles (1984), Brazil (1985) and The Goonies (1985).
If you go to their New website Alamo 100 you can peruse the list of what the Alamo team says are the 100 movies they would want if stuck on a desert island for the rest of their lives. Take a look at all the movies and use this as a checklist with your cinematic friends to compare who has seen the most.
Alamo Drafthouse Cinema will also be handing out collectible buttons to movie goers at each of the 100 movies that will be shown. Last night I earned a City Lights button. Who doesn’t need more flair!
